Don’t Quit

Happy New Year AND New Decade to you…

As we enter a NEW Year and a NEW decade, we will all, no doubt, be faced with challenges and opportunities. Remember, the two go hand in hand. No challenges = No opportunities.

There’s a whole New Economy emerging as well, with new rules and new obstacles. There will come times when you flat out feel like quitting. You’ll want to hang it up. You’ll create every excuse in the book to justify your decision.

THIS is a sign of weakness.

So, as we begin this NEW year and this NEW decade, I want you to watch the following 6-minute video right now. It’s one of the most inspiring videos I’ve ever seen. Consider it a New Years present from me to you…

And I want you to save it and watch it every time the going gets tough, every time you feel frustrated, every time you think you can’t do it, and every time you feel like quitting…because you often will.

Go ahead and press the play button on the screen below right now…

People often overestimate the difficulty of the task and underestimate themselves…

…Shift that around in 2010.

“Negotiate with your mind to find more strength” – hopefully you caught that in the video.

Take action this year. It’s your year…

Best,

Andrew J. Cass

Whew! This was powerful. As a beginner (4 months) who has not yet done anything much except training and feeling frustrated because I’m so slow, it is very inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing this with us and for your leadership.

  2. Hey Andrew-
I watched the video and I swear, it made me cry! First as the mom of a first string football player, and second, as a business owner and person that is just about to hang it all up. Instead of month to month, I am day to day right now, and I’m doing my best to hang on and keep my nose to the ground and keep moving, so maybe I really needed some inspiration today, but you know me, I won’t stop until I have totally exhausted every avenue…wish me luck( and good advice)-hope you’re having a stellar year-

  3. Andrew,
You are an inspiration! This was a perfect reminder for me to never ever give up. Something I do my best to drive into my mind on a daily basis, but sometimes the message of persistance and pride within oneself is better served by a fellow leader. In all honesty, I haven’t experienced this level of leadership and motivation within a community since my training days with my Marines! Thank you for this reminder Andrew, see you in a few weeks…

  4. Hey Andrew,

I don’t know where to start… to begin to say “THANKS!” As a newbie, I really APPRECIATE your efforts on our behalf!

I just got off of your CCPro call (Extreme Productivity) …taking copious notes, and reflecting upon them, letting them sink in.

After digesting all that you brought forth tonight, I realized just how much I am impacted in all that I do, by the way I have previously managed my time.

Given that new “productivity suite” you outlined, I feel that I have made a paradigm shift in my thinking about the way to approach my time.

Now that I’ve made this realization… things can’t possibly remain the same as they were before – I’m committed to the change!

Then… to sign on here to your blog and be met with an invitation to view “Don’t Quit”… very POWERFUL!! …all I can say is, I too became a little emotional.

Andrew… GREAT Blog!…INSIGHTFUL Teaching! This has been an AWESOME introduction tonight! Thank YOU for Sharing! I look forward to more of your work, and meeting you …somewhere down this road!

    All the BEST,
    Chris
